Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup "or honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger "grated or thinly sliced"
  • 1 dash cayenne pepper "optional

Instructions
 

  • In a pitcher or large jar, combine the water, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup (or honey), and grated ginger.
  • Stir well until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
  • If desired, add a dash of cayenne pepper for a subtle spicy kick.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld. For stronger ginger flavor, refrigerate longer.
  • Strain out the ginger pieces before serving, or leave them in for a more rustic feel.
  • Serve chilled over ice.

Notes

Adjust sweetener to taste. For a spicier kick, use fresh grated ginger. Can be made with maple syrup or honey. Store in the fridge for up to a week. Serve over ice with a lemon slice if desired.
