Ingredients

  • 2 lb chicken thighs boneless
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 0.5 tsp ginger grated
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes or to taste
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Pat chicken thighs dry. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. In a small cup, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear for 3-4 minutes per side until lightly browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low. Cook for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until chicken is cooked through and sauce has thickened. If sauce is too thin, add cornstarch slurry and stir until desired consistency.
  • Serve immediately with rice and vegetables.

Notes

Adjust red pepper flakes for desired spice level. Serve with steamed rice and stir-fried vegetables. This glaze also works well with tofu or pork.
