A quick and easy recipe for succulent shrimp sautéed in a fiery garlic sauce, perfect as an appetizer or main course for social gatherings. Its bold flavors make it a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes or more to taste
- 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
- 2 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Deglaze the pan with white wine (or chicken broth), scraping up any browned bits. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly reduced.
- Stir in lemon juice and return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Toss to coat in the sauce.
- Remove from heat, stir in fresh parsley. Serve immediately.
Notes
Serve hot with crusty bread for dipping, or over rice/pasta. Adjust chili flakes to your spice preference. Fresh shrimp are always best for this recipe.
