Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes or more to taste
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  • Deglaze the pan with white wine (or chicken broth), scraping up any browned bits. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly reduced.
  • Stir in lemon juice and return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Toss to coat in the sauce.
  • Remove from heat, stir in fresh parsley. Serve immediately.

Notes

Serve hot with crusty bread for dipping, or over rice/pasta. Adjust chili flakes to your spice preference. Fresh shrimp are always best for this recipe.
