Quick Garlic Chili Shrimp
A simple yet flavorful shrimp dish, cooked quickly with garlic, red pepper flakes, and paprika. Perfect for a weeknight meal or a light appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
- 0.5 tsp paprika
- 0.25 tsp salt
- 0.125 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the hot oil. Cook for 30-60 seconds, stirring frequently, until the garlic becomes fragrant and just begins to gain a light golden color. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add the peeled and deveined shrimp and paprika to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side, stirring occasionally, until they turn opaque and pink, indicating they are fully cooked. Do not overcook, as shrimp can become rubbery.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately.
Notes
Serve immediately with rice, pasta, or crusty bread. For extra flavor, add a squeeze of lemon juice at the end. Adjust red pepper flakes to your spice preference. Ensure shrimp is fully deveined for best results.
