  • 2 cans canned mussels drained
  • 8 oz pasta any shape
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped for garnish

Instructions
 

  • 1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
  • 2. While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • 3. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • 4. Stir in dried Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes (if using).
  • 5. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring, until slightly thickened.
  • 6. Add drained canned mussels to the cream sauce and heat through for 1-2 minutes.
  • 7. Add cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water a tablespoon at a time if the sauce is too thick.
  • 8. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • 9. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh chopped parsley.

Notes
