Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 8 count small flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup Raita or plain yogurt for serving

Instructions

  • 1. In a bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, and lemon juice. Add chicken pieces and mix well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator.
  • 2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated chicken and cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cooked through and slightly charred.
  • 3. Warm the tortillas according to package instructions (microwave, oven, or skillet).
  • 4. Assemble the tacos: Place chicken tikka into warm tortillas. Top with shredded lettuce, diced red onion, and chopped cilantro.
  • 5. Drizzle with Raita or a dollop of plain yogurt before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, use paneer or chickpeas. Adjust spice levels to your preference. Serve with a squeeze of lime. A sprinkle of crumbled feta or a dollop of guacamole can add extra flair.
