Citrus Chili Salmon: Easy Roast Recipe
A vibrant and easy slow-roasted salmon dish featuring tender, flaky fish infused with bright citrus and a delightful kick from spicy chili crunch. Perfect for a healthy, flavor-packed weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 pound salmon fillet skin-on or off
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 medium lemon thinly sliced
- 1 medium orange thinly sliced (optional)
- 4 tablespoons spicy chili crunch or to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pat the salmon fillet dry with paper towels. Place it on the prepared baking sheet.
- Drizzle olive oil over the salmon, then season evenly with salt and black pepper.
- Arrange lemon and orange slices over and around the salmon fillet.
- Roast for 20-25 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
- Remove from the oven. Gently spread the spicy chili crunch over the warm salmon.
- Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro and serve immediately.
Notes
For thicker salmon fillets, you might need an extra 5-10 minutes of cook time. Serve with roasted asparagus, steamed rice, or a fresh green salad. You can also experiment with different citrus like grapefruit for a unique flavor. If you don't have store-bought chili crunch, a sprinkle of red pepper flakes and a drizzle of sesame oil can offer a quick substitute.
