Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 1 medium ripe avocado mashed
  • 0.5 teaspoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • pinch salt
  • pinch black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil extra virgin (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Toast the sourdough bread slices until golden and slightly crisp.
  • In a small bowl, mash the ripe avocado with a fork. Add the lemon juice, salt, and black pepper, mixing until well combined but still chunky.
  • Generously spread the mashed avocado mixture over each slice of toasted bread.
  • If desired, drizzle a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil over the avocado toast.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious homemade brunch!

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle with chili flakes, everything bagel seasoning, or add a poached egg. A squeeze of lime juice instead of lemon also works wonderfully. Use ripe, but firm, avocados for the best texture.
