Ingredients
- 1 lb large prawns peeled
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 6 cloves garlic minced
- 1 inch fresh ginger grated
- 1 red chili thinly sliced optional
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 0.5 tsp sugar
- 1 lime juice of
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro chopped
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sugar, and lime juice. Set aside.
- Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat until smoking. Add vegetable oil, swirling to coat.
- Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced chili (if using). Stir-fry quickly for 15-20 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add prawns to the wok in a single layer. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until they start to turn pink.
- Pour in the prepared sauce. Continue to stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until prawns are cooked through and coated in the sauce. Do not overcook.
- Remove from heat immediately. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
Notes
Use fresh, high-quality prawns for the best flavor and texture. Do not overcook the prawns, as they can become rubbery. Adjust the amount of chili to your preferred spice level. Serve immediately with steamed jasmine rice or noodles.
