Ingredients

  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • 0.5 cup strong brewed Vietnamese coffee or espresso

Instructions

  • Brew strong Vietnamese coffee or espresso and keep it hot.
  • In a small bowl, combine the egg yolk, sweetened condensed milk, and optional sugar.
  • Using a hand whisk, electric mixer, or immersion blender, whip the egg yolk mixture until it becomes light, frothy, and pale yellow, similar to meringue.
  • Pour the hot coffee into a small cup.
  • Gently spoon the whipped egg cream on top of the coffee, creating a distinct layer.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy the creamy, rich layers.

Notes

Use strong Vietnamese robusta coffee for an authentic taste. Adjust condensed milk to your sweetness preference. A small hand frother or immersion blender makes whipping the egg mixture easier. Serve immediately.
