Ingredients

  • 2 fillet salmon skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang Korean chili paste
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 0.5 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 stalk green onions sliced for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together gochujang, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil until smooth.
  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Brush the gochujang glaze generously over the top and sides of each salmon fillet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Alternatively, for a crispier exterior, pan-fry in a lightly oiled pan for 3-5 minutes per side.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving. Serve immediately with rice and your favorite steamed vegetables.

Notes

Serve this delicious salmon with a side of steamed white rice and your favorite green vegetables like broccoli or asparagus. For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze. If you don't have fresh ginger, a quarter teaspoon of ground ginger can be used. Adjust honey to taste if you prefer it less sweet or more spicy.
