Ingredients
  

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1.5 tsp granulated sugar or to taste
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat.
  • Once melted, add the milk and granulated sugar. Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is warm but not boiling.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Serve warm immediately or let it cool slightly before using as a topping or base.

Notes

Adjust sugar to taste. For a richer sauce, use heavy cream instead of milk. Add a pinch of salt to balance the sweetness. Serve warm over pancakes, waffles, fruit, or ice cream. Can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
