Reina Pepiada is a celebrated Venezuelan chicken and avocado salad, rich with creamy mayonnaise and vibrant flavors. It's renowned as a luxurious filling for the beloved arepa, offering a perfect blend of savory and smooth textures.
Ingredients
- 2 cup cooked chicken shredded
- 1 large avocado diced
- 0.5 cup mayonnaise
- 0.25 cup red onion finely chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro chopped
- 1 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed
- 0.5 tsp salt to taste
- 0.25 tsp black pepper freshly ground
Instructions
- 1. In a medium bowl, combine the shredded cooked chicken and diced avocado.
- 2. Add the mayonnaise, finely chopped red onion, chopped fresh cilantro, and lime juice.
- 3. Season with salt and black pepper.
- 4. Gently mix all ingredients until well combined and creamy. Be careful not to mash the avocado completely if you prefer some texture.
- 5. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- 6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving as an arepa filling or in other dishes.
Notes
