Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tbsp gochujang Korean chili paste
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce low sodium
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil for cooking
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 tbsp green onions sliced

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together gochujang, honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Pour the prepared sauce over the cooked chicken and stir to coat evenly. Bring to a simmer and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens and clings to the chicken.
  • Remove from heat, garnish generously with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately with steamed rice and your favorite side dishes.

Notes

For variations, you can substitute chicken with firm tofu, sliced pork, or even beef strips. Adjust gochujang amount to your spice preference. Serve hot with steamed white or brown rice and a side of quick-pickled cucumbers or steamed broccoli.
