Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup white miso paste
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1.5 tsp truffle oil white or black
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp water or vegetable broth (to thin)

Instructions

  • Combine the white miso paste, rice vinegar, low-sodium soy sauce, honey (or maple syrup), sesame oil, minced garlic, and water (or vegetable broth) in a small saucepan.
  • Whisk the ingredients continuously over medium-low heat for 3-5 minutes. The mixture should become smooth, heated through, and slightly thickened. Be careful not to let it boil vigorously, as this can affect the miso's flavor.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the truffle oil until it is thoroughly combined with the glaze.
  • Taste the Miso Truffle Glaze and adjust the seasoning if necessary. If you prefer a thinner consistency, add a tiny bit more water or broth, whisking until smooth.
  • Serve the glaze warm immediately over your favorite dishes, or allow it to cool completely before transferring to an airtight container for refrigeration. Enjoy!

Notes

Adjust truffle oil to your preference – less for a subtle hint, more for a pronounced aroma. For an extra kick, add a pinch of chili flakes or a small knob of grated ginger to the saucepan. Store the cooled glaze in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. It's excellent as a marinade for chicken, fish, or tofu, and a fantastic dressing for warm grain bowls or roasted vegetable salads.
