Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium orange peeled
  • 2 medium lemons peeled
  • 2 inch fresh turmeric chopped
  • 2 inch fresh ginger chopped
  • 2 cup filtered water
  • 1-2 tablespoon honey or maple syrup optional
  • Pinch black pepper optional

Instructions
 

  • Start by washing all produce thoroughly. Peel the orange and lemons, ensuring to remove as much white pith as possible from the lemons to avoid bitterness. Coarsely chop the fresh turmeric and ginger.
  • Combine the peeled orange, lemons, chopped turmeric, and ginger in a high-speed blender. Add 2 cups of filtered water.
  • Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or a nut milk bag set over a bowl. Press down on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the pulp.
  • Stir in honey or maple syrup to taste, if desired. Add a pinch of black pepper, which helps with turmeric absorption.
  • Serve immediately over ice, or chill in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Enjoy this potent immune-boosting tonic!

Notes

For a smoother tonic, use a high-speed blender and strain through a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag. Add a pinch of black pepper to enhance turmeric absorption. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Adjust sweetness to taste with honey, maple syrup, or agave.
