Ingredients
- 1 cup honey
- 1-2 tablespoons red pepper flakes adjust to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon salt optional
Instructions
- Combine honey, red pepper flakes, and optional salt in a small saucepan.
- Heat over low-medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is warm and the chili flakes have infused their flavor, about 5-7 minutes. Do not let the honey boil intensely.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. This allows the flavors to meld further.
- For a smoother sauce, strain the honey through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the flakes. For more texture and a more intense heat, leave the flakes in.
- Transfer the hot honey to a clean, airtight jar or squeeze bottle. Store at room temperature for up to several months.
