Ingredients

  • 6 oz long pasta of choice e.g. thick spaghetti
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 scallion whites thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • To taste Salt
  • 2 tbsp gochujang
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions

  • Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  • While pasta cooks, in a large pan or pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sliced scallion whites, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in the gochujang, rice vinegar, and honey. Mix well until a smooth sauce forms.
  • Add the cooked pasta directly to the pan with the sauce. Toss to coat evenly, adding a splash of reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.
  • Season with salt to taste. Serve immediately, garnished with scallion greens.

Notes

Adjust gochujang for desired spice level. Reserve pasta water to thin the sauce if needed. Garnish with fresh scallion greens. A fried egg makes a great addition.
