Crispy Air Fryer Wings
A simple and delicious method to achieve perfectly crispy chicken wings in an air fryer, offering a healthier alternative to deep-frying. This recipe includes a variation for sweet and spicy Candy Pepper wings.
Ingredients

- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 0.5 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions
- Pat chicken wings thoroughly dry with paper towels. This is crucial for crispiness.
- In a large bowl, toss the dried wings with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until each wing is evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes. If your air fryer doesn't have a preheat function, run it empty at 400°F for 5 minutes.
- Arrange the seasoned chicken wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Ensure there is enough space between wings for air to circulate; cook in batches if needed.
- Air fry for 25-30 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until they are golden brown, crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- For Candy Pepper Wings (optional): While wings are cooking, combine sweet chili sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce slightly thickens (about 3-5 minutes).
- Once the wings are cooked, you can either serve them plain with your favorite dipping sauce or transfer them to a bowl and toss them with the warm Candy Pepper Glaze.
