Ingredients

  • 3-4 tbsp tteokbokki sauce adjust to taste
  • ½ tbsp butter unsalted
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1-1½ cups cooked medium-grain (sticky) rice hot
  • 1 tbsp Buldak carbonara hot sauce adjust to taste
  • ½-1 tsp soy sauce or to taste

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a small pan or skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  • Stir in the tteokbokki sauce, Buldak carbonara hot sauce, and soy sauce. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce slightly thickens.
  • Add the hot cooked medium-grain rice to the pan. Mix thoroughly, ensuring that every grain of rice is evenly coated with the spicy sauce mixture.
  • Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the rice is heated through and the flavors have fully melded.
  • Serve immediately as a flavorful side dish, snack, or light meal. Garnish as desired.

Notes

For extra creaminess, stir in a tablespoon of cream cheese or a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella at the end. Adjust the Buldak sauce amount to control the spice level. Serve with a fried egg or some grilled chicken for a more substantial meal. A sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds or chopped green onions makes a great garnish.
