Ingredients
  

  • 0.5 cup tapioca pearls (boba) uncooked
  • 3 cups water for cooking tapioca
  • 2 cups black tea strong brewed and chilled
  • 0.5 cup milk dairy or non-dairy (e.g.
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar syrup or to taste
  • ice cubes to serve

Instructions
 

  • Cook tapioca pearls according to package directions. Typically, boil them in water until they become translucent and chewy, about 10-15 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water.
  • Prepare a strong batch of black tea. Let it cool down completely, then chill it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • In each serving glass, add a portion of the cooked tapioca pearls at the bottom.
  • Pour in the chilled tea and milk. Add brown sugar syrup (or your preferred sweetener) to taste and stir well until combined.
  • Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  • Serve immediately with a wide straw, allowing you to enjoy both the drink and the chewy tapioca pearls.

Notes

Adjust sugar level to your preference. Try different tea bases like black, green, or oolong. Experiment with fruit purees or other toppings like popping boba. The cook time for tapioca pearls can vary based on brand, so always follow package instructions for best results.
