Ingredients
  

  • 500 g boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 0.5 tsp ginger grated
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp honey for glaze
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce for glaze
  • 0.5 tsp sesame oil for glaze
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a medium bowl, combine 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp honey, rice vinegar, 1 tsp sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Add the chicken pieces and toss to coat evenly. Marinate for at least 10-15 minutes, or up to 30 minutes for a more intense flavor.
  • If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning. Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the soaked skewers, ensuring not to pack them too tightly to allow for even cooking.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
  • Place the skewers in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd. You may need to cook them in batches. Cook for 15 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and lightly browned with an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).
  • While the chicken cooks, prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together 1 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp soy sauce, and 0.5 tsp sesame oil.
  • Once the skewers are cooked, brush the glaze generously over the hot chicken skewers, ensuring all sides are coated.
  • Serve immediately, optionally garnished with sesame seeds. Enjoy your delicious air fryer chicken skewers!

Notes

For best results with wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes prior to use to prevent burning. Feel free to experiment with different marinades, like a lemon-herb or spicy sriracha, to change up the flavor profile.
