Ingredients
- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or penne)
- 2 tbsp San Remo Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 17.6 oz San Remo Marinara Pasta Sauce
- 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese grated (optional)
- 2 tbsp fresh basil chopped (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain, reserving about 1 cup of pasta cooking water.
- 2. While pasta cooks, heat San Remo Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- 3. Pour in San Remo Marinara Pasta Sauce and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow flavors to meld.
- 4. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
- 5. Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil, if desired.
Notes
For a richer sauce, add some cooked ground beef or Italian sausage. Feel free to substitute Marinara with any other San Remo pasta sauce like Vodka or Arrabbiata for a different flavor profile. A sprinkle of red pepper flakes can add extra heat.
