Summer Burrata with Peaches & Spicy Honey
A creamy burrata dish featuring sweet caramelized peaches and a fiery honey drizzle. This Italian-inspired treat combines cool cheese with warm fruit for a perfect summer appetizer or light meal.
Ingredients
- 1 ball burrata about 8 oz (250g)
- 2 medium ripe peaches pitted and sliced into wedges
- 1 tablespoon olive oil extra virgin
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes or to taste
- A pinch sea salt
- Optional fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the spicy honey: In a small bowl, combine honey and red pepper flakes. Mix well and set aside.
- Caramelize the peaches: Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add peach slices and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until slightly softened and lightly caramelized. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Assemble the dish: Gently place the burrata ball on a serving plate. You can either keep it whole or gently tear it open to reveal the creamy interior.
- Arrange the caramelized peaches around and on top of the burrata.
- Drizzle the spicy honey generously over the burrata and peaches.
- Sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt. If desired, garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
Notes
For an extra layer of flavor, add a sprinkle of toasted pistachios or a few fresh mint leaves. You can also substitute peaches with nectarines or plums. Adjust chili flakes to your preferred spice level.
