A vibrant and easy-to-make Korean marinade featuring gochujang for a perfect balance of spicy, sweet, and savory flavors, ideal for chicken.
Ingredients
- 0.25 cup soy sauce low-sodium preferred
- 2 tbsp gochujang Korean chili paste
- 2 tbsp brown sugar packed
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly ground
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, gochujang, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and black pepper until well combined.
- Add your desired amount of chicken (approximately 1.5 lbs of thighs or breasts, cut into pieces) to the bowl.
- Toss the chicken thoroughly to ensure every piece is evenly coated with the marinade.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or for optimal flavor, marinate overnight (up to 24 hours).
- Cook the marinated chicken using your preferred method, such as grilling, pan-frying, or baking.
Notes
