Ingredients

  • 0.25 cup soy sauce low-sodium preferred
  • 2 tbsp gochujang Korean chili paste
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar packed
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly ground

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, gochujang, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and black pepper until well combined.
  • Add your desired amount of chicken (approximately 1.5 lbs of thighs or breasts, cut into pieces) to the bowl.
  • Toss the chicken thoroughly to ensure every piece is evenly coated with the marinade.
  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or for optimal flavor, marinate overnight (up to 24 hours).
  • Cook the marinated chicken using your preferred method, such as grilling, pan-frying, or baking.

Notes

For best results, marinate chicken for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours in the refrigerator. This marinade works wonderfully for grilling, pan-frying, baking, or stir-frying. Garnish cooked chicken with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for an extra touch of flavor and presentation.
