Spicy Buldak Carbonara Recipe
A creamy and spicy fusion dish, this Buldak Carbonara brings together the intense heat of Korean instant ramen with the rich, savory notes of Italian carbonara. Perfect for a quick, satisfying meal with a kick.
Ingredients
- 1 package Buldak Ramen
- 2 eggs large
- 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 slices bacon diced
- 1 tsp gochugaru Korean chili flakes
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Cook Buldak ramen noodles according to package directions, draining most of the water (leave about 2-3 tablespoons in the pot).
- While noodles cook, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add diced bacon and cook until crispy. Remove bacon from pan, leaving rendered fat.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, and gochugaru.
- Add the cooked ramen noodles, along with the Buldak sauce packet and the crispy bacon, to the pan with the bacon fat (or the original noodle pot). Stir well to combine.
- Immediately pour the egg and cheese mixture over the noodles. Stir vigorously and quickly to coat the noodles, using the residual heat to cook the eggs into a creamy sauce without scrambling them.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan or gochugaru if desired.
Notes
For extra creaminess, reserve a tablespoon or two of pasta water before draining. Adjust gochugaru to your spice preference. A sprinkle of chopped green onions or sesame seeds makes a great garnish.
