A simple, refreshing, and naturally hydrating drink made with apple cider vinegar, ginger, and a touch of maple syrup. Perfect as an electrolyte-rich tonic.
Ingredients
- 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey
- 1 cup water cold (still or sparkling)
- 1 slice lemon for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the grated ginger, apple cider vinegar, and maple syrup (or honey) in a glass or jar.
- Pour in the cold water (still or sparkling) and stir well until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or ginger intensity if desired.
- Add a lemon slice for garnish, if using.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing, healthy switchel!
Notes
For a fizzy version, use sparkling water instead of still water. Adjust the amount of maple syrup or honey to your taste preference. You can also add a slice of lemon or lime for extra citrusy flavor. Store any leftover switchel in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
