Quick Spicy Garlic Noodles
A vibrant, incredibly flavorful noodle dish featuring succulent shrimp, robust garlic, and a spicy kick, all ready in minutes. Perfect for a busy weeknight, it delivers a gourmet taste with minimal effort, making it a true flavor bomb.
Ingredients
- 8 oz dried linguine or spaghetti
- 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes or to taste
- 1/4 cup soy sauce low sodium
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/4 cup chicken broth or vegetable broth
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro chopped
- 2 tbsp green onions sliced
Instructions
- Cook linguine according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- While noodles cook, heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and chicken broth in a small bowl. Pour the sauce into the skillet with the garlic mixture and bring to a simmer. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
- Add the cooked noodles and cooked shrimp back into the skillet. Toss everything together until the noodles are well coated with the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and sliced green onions before serving immediately.
Notes
Adjust chili flakes for desired spice level. For a vegetarian option, replace shrimp with pan-fried tofu or a medley of mushrooms. Add extra vegetables like thinly sliced bell peppers, spinach, or broccoli florets for more nutrition and crunch. Serve with a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds for added texture and flavor.
