- 0.5 cup onion chopped
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 2 cloves garlic minced

- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil

- 0.0 cup cooked rice or noodles for serving
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add chopped onion and broccoli florets, stir-frying for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Gently add the drained canned mackerel and soy sauce, stirring to combine without breaking up the fish too much.
- Stir in sesame oil and chili flakes (if using).
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Serve immediately over cooked rice or noodles.
Notes
For a complete meal, serve over steamed rice or noodles. You can easily add more vegetables like bell peppers or snow peas. Don't have canned mackerel? Canned tuna or salmon can also work. For spicy sardine tacos, combine canned sardines with chopped onion, cilantro, lime juice, and your favorite hot sauce, serving in warm tortillas with avocado.
