Quick Chicken Marinade Guide
A versatile and zesty lemon herb garlic marinade that quickly infuses chicken with incredible flavor, perfect for grilling, baking, or pan-frying.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 0.5 teaspoon dried thyme
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
- 500 gram boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the chicken pieces to the bowl, ensuring they are fully coated with the marinade.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 15-30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor.
- Preheat your grill, oven, or pan to medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade, discarding any remaining marinade.
- Cook chicken for 5-7 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and chicken is cooked through.
- Serve immediately with your favorite sides, in salads, or wraps.
Notes
For best results, marinate chicken for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator. Do not marinate for more than 4 hours due to the acid content, which can toughen the meat. This marinade can also be used for pork or firm fish. Always discard used marinade after removing chicken to prevent cross-contamination.
