A classic, fall-off-the-bone BBQ pork ribs recipe, perfect for a hearty meal. A highlight on many restaurant menus, these ribs are slow-cooked to perfection and coated in a tangy-sweet sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 racks pork spare ribs membrane removed
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup BBQ sauce your favorite
- 0.5 cup apple cider vinegar
- 0.25 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove membrane from ribs.
- Mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, black pepper, and salt in a bowl. Rub spice mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.
- Place ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil, meat-side up. Cover tightly with another layer of foil.
- Bake for 2.5-3 hours, or until very tender. Alternatively, cook in a slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours.
- In the last 30 minutes of cooking, remove top foil, brush liberally with BBQ sauce, and return to oven uncovered (or transfer to grill for a few minutes per side) until sauce is caramelized.
Notes
For best results, marinate ribs overnight. You can finish them on the grill for extra char. Serve with coleslaw or roasted potatoes.
