A vibrant fusion of spicy Jamaican jerk seasoning with tangy American BBQ sauce, creating irresistibly flavorful chicken wings.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken wings separated at the joint
- 3 tbsp jerk marinade store-bought or homemade
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce your favorite brand
- 1 tbsp honey optional
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- Fresh cilantro for garnish chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the wings with jerk marinade, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Ensure wings are evenly coated.
- Arrange the marinated wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring not to overcrowd.
- Bake for 20 minutes. While baking, combine BBQ sauce and honey (if using) in a small bowl.
- Remove wings from the oven, brush generously with the BBQ sauce mixture, and return to the oven for another 10-15 minutes, or until cooked through and slightly caramelized. Flip halfway through this second baking period if desired.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired and serve hot.
Notes
For extra crispiness, broil for the last 2-3 minutes. Serve with a side of cooling ranch or blue cheese dressing. Can be grilled or air-fried instead of baked.
