Ingredients
- 200 g paneer cut into cubes
- 0.5 cup yogurt plain
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 0.5 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 0.5 tsp cumin powder
- 0.5 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp oil
- 0.5 tsp salt to taste
- 1 medium mango ripe
- 0.25 cup red onion finely diced
- 0.25 cup cilantro chopped
- 1 jalapeño finely diced optional
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 0.25 tsp salt to taste
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas
- 0.25 cup red cabbage shredded
- 1 lime cut into wedges for serving
Instructions
- 1. Marinate Paneer: In a bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, lemon juice, oil, and salt. Add paneer cubes and mix gently until coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- 2. Make Mango Salsa: In a separate bowl, combine diced mango, red onion, chopped cilantro, diced jalapeño (if using), lime juice, and salt. Mix well and set aside.
- 3. Cook Paneer: Heat a pan or grill to medium-high heat. Skewer the paneer cubes (if grilling) or place directly in the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until lightly charred and cooked through.
- 4. Warm Tortillas: Warm the tortillas according to package directions, either in a dry pan, microwave, or oven.
- 5. Assemble Tacos: Place 2-3 paneer tikka cubes on each warm tortilla. Top generously with mango salsa and a sprinkle of shredded red cabbage.
- 6. Serve: Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
Notes
For best results, marinate paneer for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours. You can grill the paneer or pan-fry it until lightly charred. Warm tortillas before serving. Add a drizzle of mint chutney or a squeeze of lime for extra zing.
