Honey Tomyam Chicken Marinade
A vibrant and aromatic marinade that brings the iconic sweet, sour, and spicy flavors of Thai tomyam to your chicken. Perfect for grilling, baking, or pan-frying, creating a delicious and easy meal.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Tomyam paste
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 2 cloves Garlic pounded or chopped
- 1 tsp Fish sauce
- 2 leaves Kaffir lime leaves thinly sliced
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the tomyam paste, honey, pounded/chopped garlic, fish sauce, and thinly sliced kaffir lime leaves.
- Mix all ingredients thoroughly until you have a well-combined, smooth marinade.
- Add 700-800g of chicken pieces (such as thighs, drumsticks, or breasts) to the bowl, ensuring each piece is completely coated with the marinade.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the chicken for at least 30 minutes. For optimal flavor infusion, marinate for 2-4 hours, or even overnight.
- Cook the marinated chicken by grilling, baking at 200°C (400°F), or pan-frying until it is thoroughly cooked through and beautifully golden brown. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
This marinade is excellent for chicken thighs, wings, or breasts. For best results, marinate chicken for at least 2 hours, or up to 24 hours. The longer the marinating time, the deeper the flavor. This marinade also works wonderfully with shrimp or firm fish. When cooking, ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).
