Honey Gochujang Chicken
This irresistible chicken dish perfectly blends sweet honey with spicy gochujang for a savory, glazed masterpiece. It's easy to make and guaranteed to impress.
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce low sodium
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for cooking
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
- 2 tablespoons green onions sliced
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together gochujang, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the sauce.
- Add the chicken pieces to the bowl with the sauce and toss to coat evenly. Marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 30 minutes for deeper flavor.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken, reserving any excess sauce in the bowl.
- Cook the chicken for 8-10 minutes, flipping occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
- Pour the reserved sauce over the chicken and cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and beautifully coats the chicken pieces in a glossy glaze.
- Remove from heat. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately with steamed rice.
Notes
For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. Serve with steamed rice and a side of quick-pickled cucumbers or a simple green salad for a complete meal. Chicken breasts can be used, but adjust cooking time.
