Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup cooked short-grain rice warm
  • 1 large egg fried or scrambled
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds optional
  • 1 stalk green onion sliced (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Place warm cooked rice into a serving bowl.
  • Prepare your egg: either fry it sunny-side up or scramble it until just set.
  • Carefully place the cooked egg on top of the warm rice.
  • Drizzle soy sauce and sesame oil evenly over the egg and rice.
  • Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if using.
  • Serve immediately. Mix all ingredients thoroughly before eating to combine the flavors.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a dab of gochujang (Korean chili paste) or a sprinkle of kimchi. Feel free to add thinly sliced seaweed (gim) for more texture and flavor. Adjust soy sauce and sesame oil to your taste.
