Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- 2 tbsp gochujang Korean chili paste
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 0.5 inch fresh ginger grated
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp sesame seeds for garnish
- 2 tbsp green onions sliced
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and water to make the glaze.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken pieces to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour the gochujang glaze over the chicken and stir to coat evenly.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken thoroughly.
- Remove from heat and transfer to serving plates.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
- Serve immediately with steamed rice and your favorite side dishes.
Notes
Serve with steamed rice and a side of kimchi or blanched vegetables. For extra crispiness, broil the chicken for the last few minutes. Adjust gochujang amount to control spiciness.
