Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin thinly sliced against the grain
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil divided
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1/4 cup gochujang
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water or beef broth
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 tbsp green onions sliced

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and water (or beef broth) to create the glaze. Set aside.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
  • Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of sesame oil to the skillet. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the prepared gochujang glaze over the beef and broccoli. Toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly and coated all ingredients.
  • Remove from heat. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot, optionally with steamed rice.

Notes

Serve immediately with white rice or noodles for a complete meal. Adjust gochujang amount for desired spice level. You can substitute beef with chicken or tofu for variations, adjusting cook time as needed.
