Ingredients

  • 3 large ripe avocados mashed
  • 1/2 cup red onion finely diced
  • 1/2 cup cilantro chopped
  • 1 medium jalapeño finely diced (optional
  • 2 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper or to taste
  • 1 medium roma tomato seeded and diced (optional

Instructions

  • Halve the avocados, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
  • Mash the avocado flesh with a fork or a potato masher until it reaches your desired consistency (chunky or smooth).
  • Add the finely diced red onion, chopped cilantro, finely diced jalapeño (if using), and fresh lime juice to the bowl.
  • Stir in the salt and black pepper, mixing until all ingredients are well combined.
  • If using, gently fold in the diced Roma tomato.
  • Taste the guacamole and adjust the seasoning as needed, adding more salt, pepper, or lime juice to your preference.
  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or as a vibrant topping for your favorite dishes.

Notes

For a chunkier guacamole, mash avocados less. For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or finely diced jalapeño seeds for more spice. Always taste and adjust seasoning (salt, pepper, lime) to your preference. To prevent browning, cover the guacamole tightly with plastic wrap directly on the surface and refrigerate. Serve with tortilla chips, as a topping for tacos, or alongside your favorite Mexican dishes.
