Fresh Fish, No Fishy Smell!
A simple and delicious recipe for baked cod, infused with fresh ginger and aromatic herbs, ensuring a clean, fresh taste with no fishy notes. Perfect for a healthy weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb cod fillets fresh or thawed
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh dill chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.25 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 whole lemon sliced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- Pat cod fillets dry with paper towels. This helps prevent steaming and reduces fishiness.
- In a small bowl, combine grated ginger, chopped parsley, chopped dill, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and olive oil.
- Place cod fillets in the prepared baking dish. Spread the herb-ginger mixture evenly over each fillet.
- Arrange lemon slices around and on top of the fish.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time will vary based on fillet thickness.
- Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.
Notes
For a citrusy kick, add lemon slices to the baking dish. You can substitute cod with other white fish like haddock or tilapia. Serve with roasted vegetables or a light salad.
