Easy One-Pot Pasta Perfection
A hearty, flavorful pasta dish cooked entirely in one pot, saving you time on both preparation and cleanup. Perfect for busy weeknights, this recipe combines tender pasta with a rich sauce, creating a satisfying meal with minimal effort.
Ingredients
- 4 cup vegetable broth or chicken broth
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes undrained
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 large onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 0.5 tsp dried basil
- 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes optional
- 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
- 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese grated
- to taste salt
- to taste black pepper
- 0.25 cup fresh basil chopped
Instructions
- Combine vegetable broth, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, heavy cream, chopped onion, minced garlic, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes (if using) in a large pot or Dutch oven.
- Add the broken linguine to the pot, ensuring it is mostly submerged in the liquid.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat to medium and simmer, stirring frequently, until the pasta is al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed, about 15-20 minutes. Stirring is crucial to prevent sticking.
- Remove from heat. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper.
- Let stand for 5 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken further.
- Garnish with fresh chopped basil and serve immediately with extra Parmesan cheese.
Notes
Feel free to customize with your favorite vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms. A sprinkle of red pepper flakes adds a nice kick. Serve with crusty bread and a side salad.
