Ingredients
  

  • 1 block extra-firm tofu pressed and cubed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • pinch salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • 2. In a large bowl, combine the cubed tofu, olive oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, paprika, nutritional yeast, salt, and black pepper. Toss gently to coat every piece.
  • 3. Sprinkle the cornstarch over the tofu mixture and toss again until all the tofu cubes are evenly coated. The cornstarch is essential for achieving that desired crispiness.
  • 4. Spread the seasoned tofu cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching. This allows for even cooking and maximum crispiness.
  • 5. Bake for 20-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until the tofu is golden brown and delightfully crispy.
  • 6. Remove from oven and serve immediately. Enjoy them on their own, in salads, grain bowls, or as a protein boost for stir-fries.

Notes

For extra crispiness, press the tofu for at least 30 minutes before cutting and tossing with seasonings. You can air-fry these at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce like sriracha mayo, sweet chili, or peanut sauce.
