Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup milk or non-dairy alternative
  • 5-7 dried butterfly pea flowers
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup optional
  • 1/2 tsp ashwagandha powder optional

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, combine milk and dried butterfly pea flowers. Heat over medium-low heat until warm but not boiling, about 3-5 minutes. The milk should turn a beautiful blue color.
  • Remove from heat and strain out the butterfly pea flowers using a fine-mesh sieve. Discard the flowers.
  • Return the blue milk to the saucepan. Stir in ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, honey (or maple syrup), and ashwagandha powder (if using).
  • Whisk gently until all ingredients are well combined and the drink is frothy.
  • Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy this comforting beverage about 30 minutes before bedtime.

Notes

For an extra boost of calm, add 1/2 teaspoon of ashwagandha powder. Adjust sweetener to taste. Serve immediately for best results. You can also experiment with other calming spices like cardamom or a pinch of ginger.
