A classic, aromatic garlic bread, perfect for soaking up the rich sauce of shakshuka. This easy-to-make side adds a delicious garlicky flavor and satisfying crunch.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf crusty baguette
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the baguette halves.
- Place the baguette halves cut-side up on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and fragrant. For extra crispiness, broil for 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Remove from oven, slice into individual portions, and serve immediately with your shakshuka.
Notes
Use a good quality crusty baguette or Italian bread for the best results. Fresh parsley adds a nice touch of color and freshness. Adjust the amount of garlic to your personal taste preference. For an extra golden crust, you can broil the bread for the last 1-2 minutes, but watch it very carefully to prevent burning.
