Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 pound chicken breasts or thighs

Instructions

  • 1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and minced garlic until well combined.
  • 2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are thoroughly coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours.
  • 3. To grill: Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade (discard remaining marinade) and grill for 4-6 minutes per side, or until cooked through and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • 4. To bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place marinated chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • 5. Rest chicken for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, marinate chicken for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator. Do not marinate for longer than 24 hours. Serve with steamed rice and your favorite stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal. This marinade can also be used for pork or tofu.
