Air Fryer Ribs in Minutes
A quick and easy method to achieve tender, juicy pork ribs with a perfectly crispy exterior using your air fryer. Ideal for a fast weeknight meal or a flavorful snack.
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds pork baby back ribs or spare ribs cut into 2-3 bone portions
- 2 tablespoons dry rib rub store-bought or homemade (e.g.
- 0.25 cup BBQ sauce optional
Instructions
- Pat the pork ribs dry thoroughly with paper towels. Cut them into 2-3 bone portions if using a smaller air fryer or to ensure even cooking.
- Generously season the ribs on all sides with your preferred dry rib rub. For enhanced flavor, let them rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the seasoned ribs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook in batches.
- Cook the ribs for 15 minutes, then flip them over.
- Continue cooking for another 10-15 minutes, or until the ribs are tender and have a nice crisp exterior. If using BBQ sauce, brush it onto the ribs during the last 5-10 minutes of cooking and cook until slightly caramelized.
- Carefully remove the ribs from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, pat ribs very dry before seasoning. Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed. For extra tender ribs, you can par-boil or steam them for 20-30 minutes before applying the rub and air frying. Apply BBQ sauce during the last 5-10 minutes of cooking to prevent burning and allow caramelization.
