Ingredients

  • 4 inch fresh ginger root peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.25 cup apple cider vinegar unfiltered
  • 1 tbsp raw honey optional
  • 0.5 lemon juice optional

Instructions

  • Blend the peeled and chopped ginger root with 1 cup of water until very smooth. This may take 1-2 minutes.
  • Strain the ginger mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean jar, pressing firmly on the pulp to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the pulp.
  • Add the apple cider vinegar, optional raw honey or maple syrup, and optional lemon juice to the ginger liquid.
  • Stir vigorously to ensure all ingredients are well combined.
  • Pour into small shot glasses (approx. 2 oz each) and enjoy immediately, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Shake well before each use.

Notes

For a smoother shot, strain the ginger mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth multiple times. Adjust sweetness with honey or maple syrup to your liking. Store the shots in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5-7 days. A pinch of cayenne pepper can be added for an extra metabolic kick.
