Ingredients
- 1 tsp dried butterfly pea flowers
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 tsp honey or to taste
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice or lime juice
Instructions
- Place dried butterfly pea flowers in a mug or heatproof glass.
- Pour hot water over the flowers and let steep for 3-5 minutes, until the water turns a deep blue.
- Strain the flowers and discard. Stir in honey until dissolved.
- Add the fresh lemon juice and watch the tea transform from blue to a beautiful pink-purple hue.
- Serve warm or chilled over ice.
Notes
For an iced version, steep tea with less water for a stronger concentrate, then pour over ice and top with more cold water. Adjust honey and lemon to taste. You can also add ginger slices or mint leaves for extra flavor.
