A versatile and flavorful Korean marinade made with soybean paste, gochujang, garlic, soy sauce, and honey, perfect for meats and vegetables.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp soybean paste doenjang
- 1 tbsp gochujang Korean chili paste
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp honey
- 0.5 tsp black pepper ground
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine soybean paste, gochujang, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, and black pepper.
- Whisk all ingredients together until well combined and smooth. Ensure there are no lumps of paste.
- Use the marinade immediately to coat your desired protein (meat, tofu) or vegetables. For optimal flavor, allow items to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or preferably several hours to overnight before cooking.
Notes
For best results, marinate meat or firm vegetables for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours in the refrigerator. This marinade is excellent for beef, chicken, pork, or tofu. Adjust gochujang for desired spice level. You can also add a pinch of ginger or a tablespoon of mirin for extra depth.
